Symposium Submission

The symposium should be compiled by all presenters in the symposium and submitted by a single presenter (the facilitator/chair).
Please note that all submissions will be reviewed by the congress organising committee and selected for inclusion in the programme based on scientific review criteria and availability within the congress programme. Incomplete submissions will not be eligible for review and selection.

The application deadline for the Dan Stein Award is 15 May 2026. Applications will only be considered if an oral or poster abstract has been submitted before 30 April 2026.

Does your session require an AGM?
Please note that scheduling an AGM within your symposium may reduce the time available, as session durations are fixed.
Does your session include ethics content?
If yes, please include ‘Ethics’ in your submission title and ensure the ethics component lasts at least 45 minutes for HPCSA consideration. Any additional required documents will be communicated directly.

Chair/Facilitator

The symposium requires a chair/facilitator. One of the presenters may assume this role, or it can be fulfilled by a non-presenter whose only responsibility is to facilitate the session.

Please indicate the number of presenters for your proposed symposium (minimum of three and maximum of four) before proceeding with your submission. Each presenter must have their abstract uploaded in the designated section. These uploads should be completed by the Facilitator/Chair submitting this form.

Please note that symposium sessions have a limited duration, typically around 90 minutes per session.

Symposium Description

• Submissions must be in English only.
• Submissions to be done in sentence case. ALL CAPS submissions will be disregarded.
• The symposium description should be written in free-text narrative style (not structured with subheadings) and not exceed 350 words.
• The individual speaker abstracts must be written at the time of submitting the symposium. These abstracts can either use free-text or sub-headings and must not exceed 350 words.
